2007 was the 90th Anniversary of the Bolshevik
Revolution, through which Russia 'spread her errors throughout
the world'. It was also the 90th Anniversary of the Fatima
Message, in which Our Blessed Mother asked the Pope to
consecrate Russia to her Immaculate Heart and asked for the
Devotion of Reparation of the First Five Saturdays.
The Sacred Heart Legion, Saint Gabriel
Communications International and the New Evangelization Office
of the National Shrine of the Sacred Heart of Jesus hosted
together a Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Communist
genocide at the National Shrine.
The day featured the Divine Liturgy in the
Byzantine Rite, followed by a procession about the Shrine's
grounds. Raymond de Souza finished the event with a half-hour
presentation on the inhuman oppression of Communist rule, the
crucial importance for Catholic to know the Fatima Message and
the ever-present necessity to heed the request of the Immaculate
Heart of Mary.
